    Multievent Program (note: early start for U13-17)

    Please be aware that this season's Multievent Championship will be conducted at Foxglove Oval on Saturday, 28 January 2017.  The competition structure is similar to last November’s Pentathlon, where athletes accumulate points for their performances (not placings) across all the events they compete that day. As well as being an excellent warm-up for next month's Region Championship, all athletes may use their total score as an extra event towards their yellow/green/red/blue achievement levels.

    Events for all age groups (except U13-17s -- see below*) will start at 8.30am. Athletes arriving late will miss the opportunity to accrue points from any events conducted in their absence. Awards will be presented to the top three point scorers in each age group, provided they make a reasonable attempt at ALL events.

    *Under 13 to 17 athletes will need to be at Foxglove by 7.45am sharp for their first two events -- long jump and shot put.

    All U10-17 athletes are invited to compete in the 17th running of the prestigious NDLAC Middle Distance Handicap to be held 8.30AM sharp prior to our regular program Saturday fortnight 18 February 2017 (week after region).

    Start of NDLAC Cross Country Season 330pm for 4pm start

    When and where?

    NDLAC's cross country season will be held at Foxglove Oval commencing Sunday, 30 April 2017 (one week earlier than shown in the Handbook). Our 5th season will run for nine weeks and conclude with handicap races and a presentation of awards on 25 June. Races on the Queen's Birthday weekend will be held on the Monday instead of Sunday.

    There is NO cost to athletes already registered with NDLAC, other Little Athletics centres or senior athletics clubs* for the 2016-17 summer season. New athletes are welcome to join NDLAC for the 2017 winter season at a cost of $50 per athlete.

    Age groups

    Winter 2017 age groups are the same as those used for the 2016-17 summer season. That is, the athlete's age as at 30 September 2016 determines their age group. For example, if an athlete was 9 years old at 30/9/16, they are still in the 'Under 10s'.

    The likely weekly program is:

    • 4.00pm: 2000m (U11s & U12s) and 3000m (U13s to U17s & open*);
    • 4.25pm: 500m (U6s & younger**);
    • 4.35pm: 800m (U7s & U8s) and 1500m (U9s & U10s).

    While winter season awards will be based on athletes' achievements in the designated distance for their age group, athletes may choose to compete in other distances and/or more than once per week to complement their training program for the schools' representative cross country season. Note that the 500m race is reserved exclusively for U6s and U6s may not compete in other distances. **Registered Tiny Tots may compete as U6s.

    Click here for more information, including course maps.

    Uniforms are not compulsory.

    Cancellations for any reason will be notified on our website and Facebook and TeamApp pages.

    Presentation Afternoon / Evening & AGM - new time 430PM start!

    NDLAC welcomes all eligible athletes and families to our annual Presentation Day / Night, starting from 430PM on Saturday 6 May.  Held at the Asquith Girls High School (Stokes Ave, Asquith - Assembly Hall entrance through the car park), the event also coincides with our Annual General Meeting.
    This year's event will include presentations to all eligible athletes from Tiny Tots through to U17, as well as raffle prizes and more!!  Athletes are requested to wear their NDLAC uniforms for photos.  RSVP by 1 May 2017 to  NB:  it is important that you let us know if you can attend or not.  If you do not let us know that you cannot be there, then you cannot collect any trophies and certificates until the beginning of next season.  Any athlete who cannot make the Presentation Day / Night will be able to collect their awards from the start of the 2017-18 season.
    We will also be seeking expressions of interest for Committee positions for the 2017-2018 season.  Our Centre would not be able to put the wonderful week-to-week program and associated events together during the season without the wonderful work of our Committee, comprised from mostly parents / guardians and former parents of the Centre.  The Committee has a range of roles which support the running of NDLAC, in an enjoyable environment, and the more support we can get the better!  In particular we’d like to get some additional assistance in the areas of:
    Championships Officer
    Records / Rankings / Results
    Officers for Assistants (Sat)
    Uniforms & Social
    Timing Officer (Tech support)
    And more!!!!
    We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday 6 May!
